Illustrated recipe: Refried beans
We love tacos and I came up with this homemade refried beans recipe a good few years ago and use it every time we have tacos now. It’s really nice in tacos, served with some shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes and grated cheese and maybe some sour cream, as well (cheese and sour cream totally optional and it would be vegan without them). It’s also great in a tortilla wrap or served with some rice.
I created an illustrated version of the recipe for this week’s Folio Focus theme and have uploaded a long landscape version to They Draw and Cook. I also created three other formats – the above one, a tall one for Pinterest and a square one for Instagram.

I really enjoyed making the different formats – used the new(ish?) artboard facility in Photoshop like I would in Illustrator and then exported them all at once. Think the artboards may be really useful for creating different versions of patterns for Spoonflower, Redbubble and so on…
Cool you did all the different sizes for all the different platform s! I love refried beans too. I grew up with them in California!
